Virtual Wilbye Consort plays madrigals by
Thomas Weelkes
The selection here is mainly taken from his Madrigals to Five and Six Parts (1600), which is considered to be among his best collection but hardly performed today except for "Thule, the Period of Cosmography" and "O Care, Thou Wilt Despatch Me" (being contrary, we chose to record only the second parts of these). A few pieces are taken from Ballets and Madrigals to Five Voices (1598).
